How to Remove Dirt Build Up on Wood Furniture

Pieces of furniture that are used a lot can get dirt build up on them.

What causes dirt build up on furniture?

Over time hand oils, cooking oils, and cleaning products can create a sticky surface.

Determine if the wood is finished or is it bare wood?

Wood surfaces that are finished, damp a cloth with a vinegar water solution and carefully wipe the surface. Another method is using Murphy’s oil soap.

What if the surface is unfinished?

1/2 cup of vinegar to 1 gallon of water. Wear gloves, dip a clothe into the vinegar water solution. Wring out the clothe until it’s only damp and dab it onto the dirty surface.

Another method is: Eraser’s crumbs, Example of an Eraser crumble is the Staedtler Mars Plastic .

What to put on untreated wood?
