Natural Holiday Scents

The fall season is one of my favorite times of the year. I love all the wonderful scents, that the holiday season brings. I always loved going into Yankee Candle and Bath and Body works this time of of year. My nose can’t handle these strong scents anymore.

This time of the year, a few of the homes we clean, have the plug-in fragrances, candles, melts etc. I really have a hard time breathing in these homes because of these products. Ever wonder what ingredients are in these products?

These are only a few of the chemicals in these products.

  • Benzene
  • Formaldehyde
  • Ethanol
  • Xylene

Don’t use poisonous products to bring holiday scents into your home.

A healthier alternative:

Cinnamon Scented Pinecones

Gather up some pinecones, or buy them.

Preheat the oven at 200 degrees.  Once the oven reaches the temperature. Place the pinecones on a baking sheet. Check them often to make sure that they don’t burn. Once the pinecones have opened up and the sap has been release, they are done.

Allow the pinecones too cool. Use a gallon size plastic bag, add 15-20 drops of cinnamon essential oil. Add about one pound of pinecones, into the bag and shake.
