Reading a house hold cleaning product label can be confusing, example: what does Plant Based or Natural mean?
A consumer is mislead by reading this kind of a label, tricked into thinking it is a healthier choice for you and the environment.Cleaning products are not regulated like food and drug products, which they should be. The words, “ Natural, or Organic ” means nothing. It means that the manufacturer has used plant based and minerals and not petroleum based ingredients. On the label, the manufacturer is not required to mention the amount, therefore misleading the consumer into thinking this product is healthier for the environment as well as a healthier choice to use in the home.
Read labels, and stay away from products with these ingredients.
- Phthalates
- Perchloroethylene or “PERC
- Triclosan
- Quarternary Ammonium Compounds, or “QUATS”
- Ammonia
- Sodium Hydroxide
- Chlorine
- 2-Butoxyethanol
