The story behind Bon ami: This cleanser got its start in 1886. The base of the powder is feldspar which was considered a waste product which was used to shine quarry workers shovels. Feldspar is a soft material that polishes without scratching the surface. Bon ami is a “non silica quartz” cleanser.
There is “no harmful chemicals or additives.” Over the years, Bon ami has stayed true to being a Green cleaning product. The name Bon ami, means “good friend” in French.
Bon ami powdered cleanse is safe on non-decorative hard surfaces. Cooktops, countertops, microwave and toilets. I wouldn’t use it on glass surfaces especially shower glass enclosures.
