  1. Plug in Air Fresheners – Studies have found numerous chemicals associated with toxic effects. These include: volatile organic compounds (VOCs), benzene, formaldehyde, toluene, m,p-xylene, phthalates, and more
  2. Furniture Polish – Common hazardous ingredients. Ammonia, aromatic solvents (benzene, toluene), phenol, petroleum distillates (also called naphthas or mineral spirits), silicones, synthetic polymers, trichloroethane, turpentine.
  3. Mothballs or Flakes – Mothballs or flakes are commonly made of naphthalene or para- dichlorobenzene, both of which are toxic to humans.
