How do you vacuum a rug with fringe?

A Roomba vacuum or any other auto vacuums will eat the fringe off of rugs. They just don’t get along…

But, how do you care for rugs with fringe?

Do not use a ” beater bar ” or upright vacuum, these will pull and shred the fringe. If the rug is small enough it is best to bring it outside and beat it.

It is best to vacuum from side to side opposite of the fringes. Vacuum clean at least twice a week especially on the high traffic areas.

We use a groomer carpet rake to straighten the fringes.
