Can A Vacuum Damage Furniture?

This piece of furniture has these marks on it  that was most likely caused by a vacuum. Any type of vacuum can possibly mark up furniture or baseboards. It is best to avoid hitting furniture or baseboards. Edge pieces of furniture with a brush tool or crevice tool.

How can these marks be removed without using chemicals. Steel Wool Grade 0000 is a good solution, followed up with a furniture marking pen if necessary.
